A Cooperative Preschool Where Kids Learn through Play


Located in a natural historic setting just three miles south
of Old Town Alexandria, Fort Hunt Preschool is a parent-run cooperative for 2- to 4-year-old children. The school has served children and families for 50 years.


Learning through Play

Our program recognizes that play is the primary means by which children explore, investigate, and understand the world. Through indoor and outdoor play, children actively discover more about their environment, their peers, and themselves. Our serene grounds provide the perfect setting for youngsters to observe the natural world and learn to appreciate nature—a central theme in our curriculum. Learn more
