A Cooperative Preschool Where Kids Learn through Play


Located in a natural historic setting just three miles south of Old Town Alexandria, Fort Hunt Preschool is a parent-run cooperative for 2- to 4-year-old children. The school has served children and families for 50 years.

Our program recognizes that play is the primary means by which children explore, investigate, and understand the world. Through indoor and outdoor play, children actively discover more about their environment, their peers, and themselves.     FHP Open House, Sat. Feb. 4
    FHP will hold an open house on Sat., Feb. 4 from 10am-12noon (snow date: Sat., Feb. 11, same time). Children are welcome to this event. The open enrollment period for new families is Feb. 4-17. Enrollment forms and further information can be found on the Enrollment page.

    FHP Celebrates 50 Years!
    FHP will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the school in 2012. In honor of this anniversary, we will be planning events and reaching out to alumni and their families.
